A star comedienne, Harriet is one of the Big Three, the actors who headline the weekly sketch comedy show Studio 60. She's a gifted actress and singer whose personal life is frequently drawn out into the tabloids because of her relationship with writer Matt Albie, and her religious beliefs, which are frequently the source of disputes between herself and... well, everyone else in LA, sometimes. She's a sweet, warm, loving person who believes strongly in God but doesn't force her beliefs on anyone, and the most important thing to her is making people laugh.
Harriet Hayes was born in Michigan, the youngest daughter of a devout mother and a far from devout father who started drinking when he was laid off from his job at the paper plant. She has six older brothers, none of them religious. Harriet has been singing and dancing since she was a child, even before she began acting. She became a Christian and a comedian at approximately the same time, when she did a Judy Holliday impression in the middle of a church play and made the minister burst out laughing - and that was the day she decided she was ready to accept Christ and was baptised.
She went to Rutgers on an academic scholarship, and though she was offered a scholarship for a Master's at Kansas State University, she turned it down to pursue a career in comedy. She was interning with the Groundlings in LA when she was discovered by Danny Tripp, he got her an audition for Studio 60, and once on the show, Matt Albie made her a star.
Disclaimer: I do not own Studio 60 or Harriet Hayes, nor do I claim to be Aaron Sorkin or Sarah Paulson. This is just for fun, and not used for profit.
